Sculptures
These sculptures are made from fused glass and elm or oak and are designed as garden pieces.
The glass is set into the wood which has been carefully routed out and skilfully finished by a capenter to allow the light to shine through.
I tend to favour elm as this wood has traditionally been used outside for centuries often featuring as paddles for mill wheels. It has an interesting grain and is slightly darker than the oak pieces.
Each sculpture has large steel pins inserted into the base to allow you either to place it directly into soil or to concrete it in. Each piece is finished with a coat of Danish oil.
I usually have a few sculptures in stock but am always happy to make them to commission.
