16.5cm diameter by 7cm tall
This bowl is made from a porcelain stoneware mix of clay. Edged with bronze lustre.
The bowls are made by hand and pressed into a plaster mould created by me to achieve a natural form and organic shape.
Each bowl is impressed with a leaf, it is then left to dry for up to two weeks before being bisque fired to 950 degrees. This first firing is long and slow and takes about three days. The leaf is then highlighted in oxides before resist is applied and then it is dipped in a combination of glazes. I use powdered dipping glazes but much prefer to create my own effects and colours by experimenting with layering these on top of one another. A truly unique piece of functional art for your home.
